Quality Engineer

Position Overview:

Maintains the quality programs, policies, and initiatives.   Responsible for identifying, analyzing and developing improvements in operations, quality, and safety.   Change and maintain a Company culture so everyone is focused and responsible for quality. Oversees inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established standards of strength, quality, and endurance.  Performs as Quality Management Representative of company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update all departments on quality policies and procedures
  • Monitor performance of quality system to ensure adherence and effectiveness
  • Assess training needs/Prioritize and Implement based on greatest impact
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement
  • Manage and perform all root cause analysis and corrective action for customer rejections and internal non-conformance
  • Manage Quality Inspectors at all facilities
  • Report and present Quality metrics (OTD, Quality, PPM, Internal) to managers, employees, and customers
  • Monitor receipt of raw goods to ensure all Vendors meet required specs
  • Review and update standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals
  • Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections (Customer Driven)
  • Stop production if serious product defects are present involving Operations Director in the decision
  • Review and correct Production Work Instructions
  • Reviews all prior Audit findings (ISO/Internal/Customer/NADCAP) Ensure all items have been addressed and corrective actions have been effectively closed.
  • Prepare a Rolling Action Plan to meet/exceed Customer’s Supplier Quality Excellence Program (SQEP) Gold Rating
  • Participate with Customer SQEP Quality Call
  • Participate with OEM analysts daily activities
  • Prepare Audit Schedule for ISO 9001
  • Produce yearly (2018) work agenda
  • Audit and inspect vendors’ facilities
  • Coordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment such as inspection gauges
  • Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Industrial Engineer
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in textile and manufacturing industries, with hands on experience Working knowledge of quality systems and how it affects the entire enterprise
