Building Service Worker
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes and oil floors; vacuum rugs and carpets; dust and polishes furniture and woodwork; empties and cleans wastes receptacles; cleans restrooms; washes windows and walls; polishes metal work; take care of equipment and materials; assists in moving, arranging furniture, equipment and setting up rooms for special events or meetings; replaces light; adjusts shades or blinds, desk and other furniture; cleans venetian blinds; assists in the cleaning and maintenance of the company pool; assists in the cleaning and maintenance of the company car; rise and lower flags and unlock and lock doors and gates; may pick up paper and other debris on premises; may change lights; may unplug plumbing; may perform other basic duties performed in regard to building maintenance.
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited high school.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Modern cleaning methods and the preferred methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls, windows and fixtures; the cleaning materials, disinfects ,chemicals and equipment used in sanitation; tools and their uses in minor maintenance work; basic building maintenance. Ability to quickly learn the schedules, procedures and the use of tools utilized in sanitation and minor maintenance work; use common and special electrical cleaning equipment; read, write and carry out oral and written instructions; work cooperatively with contacted in the course of the work; perform basic building maintenance . Ability to read and write.
A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

To perform extensive reading and computer usage. Incumbent must also possess normal hearing (corrected to within a normal audible range) for significant contact with the public and other employees.
Individual must possess mobility to stop the reach, move over rough uneven ground, balance on high places, work in cramped spaces, move from one place to another,.use hands and fingers. Perform physical labor; and work in adverse weather conditions.
