Shipping/ Receiving Manager

The main purpose of this role is to perform and manage the incoming and outgoing of material and supplies. To lead the shipping/ receiving crew to ensure on time delivery of customer production and the organization of the warehouse and supplies to assist in effective production. Packages product, prepares shipping paperwork, works with carriers and maintains safety and quality.

  • Review travelers to be shipped daily
  • Being packing completed order, taking care to package per customer requirements, if any
  • Prepare packing slips, box labels and any other paperwork required with shipment (this data should be outlined on the Traveler)
  • Work with Analyst to ensure customer shipping instructions are complete
  • Call freight carrier to schedule pick up
  • Complete Traveler packet with copy of packing slip and bill of lading
  • Print UPS daily shipping report
  • Complete Travelers and shipping report are submitted to Accounts Receivable at the end of the day

Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures; understands and adheres to all
  • Working knowledge of shipping/ receiving standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of packaging tools and UPS/ FedEx labeling system
  • Skill in managing suppliers
  • Proficient in Accurate data entry
  • Intermediate skills of Microsoft Office, UniPoint, and Outlook programs
  • Math skills: Advanced knowledge of scheduling and understanding of Production Planning
  • Project management skills
  • ERP- JobBoss, Intermediate level
  • Advanced time management skill
  • SOP for manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing environment and ISO Quality Systems
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills

Tools & Technology Used:

  • Minimum 2 year degree, Degree in Business Administration preferred
  • Computer functions
  • Experience in Shipping/ Receiving Management
  • Experience in textile and manufacturing industries
  • ERP: JobBoss, UniPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Office
  • Shipping/ Freight Carrier portals


Education and Experience:

  • Requires a High School diploma or its equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing/ inventory environment
